Andy Roderique wins the 28th Zigfield Troy Open

Andy Roderique, 2009 ZTO Champion

Andy Roderique of Peoria, IL won his third Zigfield Troy Open championship over the weekend of the 18th and 19th of July, joining John Woronick in the 3-win club. On Sunday, Roderique and runner-up Peter Tanaka of Naperville, IL were tied for the lead after ten holes. But Andy hit his tee shot on the 11th hole (hole #2) to one foot away, making a birdie to Tanaka’s bogey for a two-stroke swing. From there, Roderique coasted to the win with all pars and a birdie on number five (his 14th hole). In fact, he only bogied one hole the entire tournament, and that was on the front nine in Sunday’s round.

Other division winners this year included: Tracy Summers, Joliet 136 (Womens), Aldo Buffone, Lockport 116 (Seniors), Vince Militante, Darien 112 (Super Seniors), and Ryan Grassel, Chesterton, IN 113 (High School).
